the Cool Girl

Gone Girl, the movie is soon to be released, well, in a week to be precise and I reserved the book again in my library and hope to reread it before I go watch the movie. My memory is pretty bad when it comes to remembering books and movies. Its a good thing because I can watch a movie or read a book over and over again without getting bored, kinda like the guy in Memento. But sometimes, I do remember specific things that stood out about a movie or a book. And the now-infamous Cool Girl passage is one of them. Here's the excerpt:

The Perfect Grey Sweatshirt

Thursday, September 18, 2014

Fall is here and along with pumpkin spice lattes and crunchy leaves under your boots, cozy sweatshirts make an appearance too. I am talking about the perfect grey sweatshirt. I am always on the hunt for that perfect one. Not too tight, not too loose, not too cropped, not too long with the perfect sleeve length. I have a couple of sweatshirts that I pull out during fall.

Bill Cunningham : He who seeks beauty, will find it.

Monday, September 15, 2014

I recently watched Bill Cunningham New York  on Netflix, thanks to Tanvi. And if you follow me on Twitter, you'd know by now that I have become a huge fan of his. Bill Cunningham is a street style photographer in NewYork who has been doing this since the 60's. When the documentary was made, he had just turned 80. This documentary follows him around as he goes about wearing his trademark bright blue jacket clicking people and their clothes with his Nikon film camera on his bicycle. To call him influential would be an understatement. He knows everyone in the fashion world and any fashion week is incomplete without him. And the beauty of it is that he really doesn't care about any of the big names. Like he says in the documentary while watching a runway show during NYFW "If it isn't something a woman could wear, I have no interest in it".
