The Yacker recommends: The Trip

I came across this movie one random afternoon while I was looking for something to watch on Netflix. So I got to watch this 2011 movie in 2013, but am I glad I found it!

The Trip is a British sitcom (which I later found out) and this movie is an edited version of the series.

It has a mockumentary feel to it, with Steve Coogan and Rob Brydon going on a restaurant tour of England for The Observer. The chemistry between these two is what makes this movie so so so good. Don't judge me when I say I was laughing like a manic all by myself. Their improvisations are the best parts about the movie. I grin like an idiot when there's a movie/pop culture reference on TV shows and movies and just check this scene out.

See, what did I tell you. And I also love random conversations which don't make any sense that happen out of the blue and this movie just has the right amount of those. Here's one such scene. It's also my go-to funny scenes.

I would definitely recommend this movie if you are looking for a light-hearted, funny as heck yet a deep movie to watch on a weekend. There's a sequel "The trip to Italy" which came out in 2014, which is equally good. But, watch this first and then move onto the sequel :)
