Let's talk about Culottes today. It might sound like a fancy french pastry, but it's the "in" pants of spring/summer. I think it was around last year too, but I just hopes it would just go away. It's one of those things that I am scared to even look at, because unless you are a 6'2" model or french, you know you can't pull this trend off.
Ladies and gentlemen (That one random male reader of my blog, ze husband *cough cough*)These are culottes.
Do you see what I mean by being 6'2"? This is one trend I'm not sure should have even made a comeback. This is one of those things that should have been on the runway or in some designer's head and never made it out to walk out into the real world. See, the way these women are standing in the pics? Whenever Culottes are worn, unless a woman assumes one of those above-seen poses and stick to it all day, 5'3" mortals like me can never, ever be able to pull this one off. Or atleast, that's what I thought until I saw Deepika Padukone in PIKU. That is something I can try to dip my toes in the culottes water.
So, while I wait for some desi culottes from India, let's just hope and pray that this trend goes away for good. And while we are at it, can we also hope that palazzos will vanish as well? I mean who wants to see people on the streets looking like clown on stilts, right?
